Hybrid GenAI pipeline cuts 15 hours of manual work

Veridian Resonance used a custom pipeline with Nano Banana 2 and human-in-the-loop editing to produce a 100-panel comic, saving 15 hours of manual work [DevTo].

Veridian Resonance shipped a 24-page bilingual static comic built on a custom pipeline that generated 100 panels using Nano Banana 2 and strict prompt constraints [DevTo]. The workflow reduced iteration passes per character asset from over 20 to under 5, and custom Python/Node scripts eliminated an estimated 15 hours of manual file-management work.

The final product consists of 100 panels across 24 story pages, hosted on GitHub Pages behind Cloudflare for global delivery. Automation handled naming, folder organization, and batch conversion, while a build-time swap served English and French dialogue without duplicating visual assets. Each panel was manually refined in Clip Studio Paint after the AI pass, preserving a consistent “cel-shaded” aesthetic derived from a fixed color palette.

By engineering negative prompts and locking reference sheets for faces and full bodies, the team achieved a stable visual identity across the entire run, cutting average revision cycles from 20-30 passes to under five per asset [DevTo]. Custom scripts streamlined renaming, format conversion, and batch processing, saving roughly 15 hours of labor. Social-media metrics showed negligible engagement, prompting a deliberate pivot to a human-in-the-loop workflow where AI supplied background studies and the artist hand-inked final lines.

The hybrid pipeline approach provided speed through constraint-driven AI and guaranteed nuance through manual refinement. This approach allowed for both consistency and artistic integrity, making it a more sustainable choice for creators.
