About OBLAIDISH NEWS.
A daily-cadence read of the most important tech news, written for engineers and product builders. Direct, sourced, opinionated — not summarised press releases.
── what this is ──
OBLAIDISH NEWS is an independent tech-news publication. Every article cites its primary sources and carries an explicit editorial point of view. We cover language, framework, and infra news that affects real teams shipping software, plus AI, hardware, policy, and the funding moves that reshape who builds what.
── what this is not ──
We are not investigative journalism. We are not a tip line. We do not publish unverified claims. We do not reprint marketing copy. Where we hold an opinion, we say so explicitly in an “Editor’s take” section — never disguised as analysis.
── how we publish ──
Each day, an automated pipeline scans Hacker News and a curated set of primary sources (vendor blogs, regulator notices, security advisories), filters for substantive technical news, and produces draft summaries.
Drafts then pass an editorial review before publishing — voice, fact-check against the cited sources, and a human-written “Editor’s take” where we have one. Articles that cannot be sourced or that read as marketing are dropped, not rewritten.
We use AI in the drafting and triage stages and disclose it here because trust with readers and journalists matters more than the writing budget. The editorial judgment — what to cover, what to skip, what to call out — is human.
